At its zenith, the British Empire stretched over one-fourth of the earth's surface. The first half of the 20th century saw the UK's strength seriously depleted in two World Wars. The second half witnessed the dismantling of the Empire and the UK rebuilding itself into a modern and prosperous European nation. The UK currently is weighing the degree of its integration with continental Europe. A member of the EU, it chose to remain outside of the EMU for the time being. Constitutional reform is also a significant issue in the UK. It works in partnership with local churches to reach, disciple, and mobilise a new generation for world mission, in global, urban, youth and marketplace settings. <br /><br />Globally, YWAM England has nearly 300 missionaries on the field, working in a diverse range of projects that include relief and development, church-planting among unreached people groups, street children, community development, orphanages, and business as mission. <br /><br />Our urban teams minister in cities and towns the length and breadth of the country, to the homeless, those involved in prostitution, ethnic minorities, families, the marginalised and vulnerable, and prisoners. <br /><br />Our youth teams work to influence and empower the young people of this nation to follow Jesus through relevant evangelism (including music, arts and missions opportunities) and discipleship and leadership training. <br /><br />Our marketplace initiative seeks to help Christians to live out their faith wherever they are - at home, in their workplace, on the campus and in their neighbourhood - and to use business as a missions tool.<br /><br />With around 300 staff in over 20 locations at home, and supporting nearly 300 British missionaries overseas, YWAM England is the biggest missions-sending agency of its kind in England.<br /><br />YWAM Scotland began in 1973 and currently has 4 bases with 50-60 staff. It's main areas of ministry are DTS and missions training, KK Child and Youth ministry, Pre-school ministry, Counseling ministries, Street Church, and Mercy Ministries - Aids sufferers in Edinburgh.<br /><br />There are some new breakthroughs recently, especially regarding reaching out to young people. Play Peace street side Sunday school has been very effective in getting children to church who wouldn't normally go to church. Fire Starters, a monthly youth training event partnering with churches, is also very effective [100+]. New Youth Initiatives in Prestwick and Kilwinning are having an impact, as are cell church initiatives. At its zenith, the British Empire stretched over one-fourth of the earth's surface. The first half of the 20th century saw the UK's strength seriously depleted in two World Wars. The second half witnessed the dismantling of the Empire and the UK rebuilding itself into a modern and prosperous European nation. The UK currently is weighing the degree of its integration with continental Europe. A member of the EU, it chose to remain outside of the EMU for the time being. Constitutional reform is also a significant issue in the UK. It works in partnership with local churches to reach, disciple, and mobilise a new generation for world mission, in global, urban, youth and marketplace settings. <br /><br />Globally, YWAM England has nearly 300 missionaries on the field, working in a diverse range of projects that include relief and development, church-planting among unreached people groups, street children, community development, orphanages, and business as mission. <br /><br />Our urban teams minister in cities and towns the length and breadth of the country, to the homeless, those involved in prostitution, ethnic minorities, families, the marginalised and vulnerable, and prisoners. <br /><br />Our youth teams work to influence and empower the young people of this nation to follow Jesus through relevant evangelism (including music, arts and missions opportunities) and discipleship and leadership training. <br /><br />Our marketplace initiative seeks to help Christians to live out their faith wherever they are - at home, in their workplace, on the campus and in their neighbourhood - and to use business as a missions tool.<br /><br />With around 300 staff in over 20 locations at home, and supporting nearly 300 British missionaries overseas, YWAM England is the biggest missions-sending agency of its kind in England.<br /><br />YWAM Scotland began in 1973 and currently has 4 bases with 50-60 staff. It's main areas of ministry are DTS and missions training, KK Child and Youth ministry, Pre-school ministry, Counseling ministries, Street Church, and Mercy Ministries - Aids sufferers in Edinburgh.<br /><br />There are some new breakthroughs recently, especially regarding reaching out to young people. Play Peace street side Sunday school has been very effective in getting children to church who wouldn't normally go to church. Fire Starters, a monthly youth training event partnering with churches, is also very effective [100+]. New Youth Initiatives in Prestwick and Kilwinning are having an impact, as are cell church initiatives. YWAM Scotland targets 8 unreached people groups around the globe.</p><p style="font-size: 12px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); line-height: 18px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, Geneva; "><b>prayer needs:</b><br />- for a new engagement with personal/friendship evangelism. <br />- for God to do new things amongst young people.
