Do you require academic achievements for your workers and leaders?

No. Unlike many missions, YWAM requires no academic qualifications whatsoever. Staff workers must successfully complete a DTS program, which bonds the person into the mission and teaches them the values and principles by which we work.

However, the emphasis is on character and relationship with God, not on academic achievement. We believe God has gifted every member of the Body of Christ for some part in the task of world mission and church work.

The Reformational principle of the priesthood of all believers holds that all believers can hear God communicate to them and be channels of Gods grace, and that each member has a gift to exercise. The task of church leadership (Ephesians 4:11) is to encourage those gifts to be developed and to see the members of the body released into their ministry.
