The Gathering

YWAM Ireland invites you to reconnect with us! The Gathering will be held at YWAM Rostrevor on the shores of Carlingford Lough on Saturday 28th April. Join us for great fellowship with old friends and make some new ones! We'll have good food, inspiring worship and plenty of time to connect at YWAM Ireland's newest Centre. There's no charge for the day but advance registration is essential. Why not make a weekend of it? Limited bed and breakfast accommodation is available for £10 sterling per person/night.

RISK - Jesus to all of Europe

Greetings from Norway. Here in YWAM Skien we are running an outreach called "Risk - Jesus to all of Europe" in October. Our aim is to send a team to each of the 46 nations of Europe at the same time, to pray, evangelize and meet the Christians there. All the Norwegian DTS students will be part of this, as well as many staff and it is open for anyone who wants to join. I was wondering if you were interested in promoting this on your website as a YWAM event. It might be hard for people to come to Norway to join the training prior to the outreach, but we would love to meet up with YWAMers and Christians at all our destinations. We would love to have the whole YWAM family join us in prayer for our continent both before and during the event. There is a prayer folder availble online.

Every second year we hold a leadership gathering for the whole field which we have called the European Leadership Forum. Our last meeting was on a boat in Berlin in February 2009. This year again we will be on a boat but this time on the danube in Budapest.

Storytelling Seminar

COST: 160 Euro (incl. housing and meals) SPEAKER: Annette Hall, who has worked as a missionary for many years in the Middle East and Europe and since 1994 has been involved in Oral Bible storytelling. She is directing the OneStory project for North Africa and Western Europe. WHAT WILL YOU LEARN: During the seminar you will learn how to use a story plus personal testimony for witnessing to others and you will go out and practice this. We will work through a story set that can be utilized for evangelism, discipleship or church planting. During this process each person will learn how to craft and tell a story. We will also talk about other aspects of storying such as how to choose and tell a story according to the situation. We will spend a good bit amount of time talking about how oral communicators learn.

EuroCom Meeting

EuroCom will be holding a meeting in October this year in Budapest, Hungary. This meeting is open to anyone and everyone who is involved in or even interested in communication here in Europe. It will be held October 14th-16th right on the heels of the Effective Communication Workshop in Budapest, Hungary on the Fortuna (www.fortunahajo.hu).

What's it all about?

We will have an open agenda. That is to say, we will all work together to set the discussion topics when we start the meeting. Topics covered last year included:

IT Missions school & training in general
EuroCom structure and networks
Communicating values & Valuing communication
Good practices & Transference guidelines
Working with the Communication Strategy Toolkit

Effective Communication Workshop (ECW)

With Workshops focusing on various aspects of communication encompassing:

Verbal: including basic public speaking, interpersonal communication and interviewing

Written: covering basic writing skills for newsletters, blogs, emails and even base administration

Visual: incorporating newsletter layout and design, basics of composition with photography and video and layout

Other Communication topics: comprising basic base/team communication strategies and web development using "content management systems" for example: Joomla and Wordpress.

InTouch Camps in Europe

Calling all Alumni: come back and join us for a taste of YWAM this summer in Europe! Our inTouch Renewal Gatherings commence at Borgen the most northerly YWAM Base in the world in the Land of the Midnight Sun in Norway (with Al & Carolyn Akimoff) during the first week of July. Other July locations include Restenäs on the West Coast of Sweden (also with The Akimoff's) and - still in Scandinavia - Southern Norway (with Dan Sneed). Early in August we'll be at YWAM Le Gault in the Champagne Region of France (with Dean Sherman). Our programme goes through until the end of August at the final 2009 Gathering to be held in the Swiss Jura Mountains (Theme: "The Father Heart of God" with Richard Jones of YWAM Malaysia). Choose from our wide selection of venues and speakers.
